• Identity
Many marketers believe that a brand identity is the outward expression of your enterprise; your name, logo, communications materials, etc. For me, a brand identity includes more. A great brand embodies everything you promise as a company. It is the sum total of how your brand looks, feels, communicates, and delivers. Your brand enables you to demonstrate your values, differentiate from the competition, and create an overall experience that encourages people to understand, engage with, and trust you.
• Voice
How you say something is just as important as the message you wish to deliver. I study your audience and express written and visual communication in a tone that matches how you wish to be perceived. I establish a “voice” for your messaging that is in sync with your brand. Voice is an often overlooked aspect of an overall marketing strategy, yet it is critical for reaching your audience.
• Narrative
Writing for business is more than the means by which you communicate with your audience. True, the principles of good business writing are clarity, simplicity, and organization. But, for compelling writing that resonates with the reader, I turn to the narrative. Almost everybody relates to a story, and I use narrative to achieve a more personal connection. If your objective is to build affinity with your prospect and propel them through the sales funnel, few approaches work better.
